Job Overview

Vonnegut Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee residential and commercial construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout. This role requires a high level of organization, consistency, and professionalism. As a core leader on our Project Management team, you will coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met—while contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee full project lifecycle from pre‑construction to closeout
  • Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, materials, and inspections
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes
  • Maintain project budgets and provide regular cost tracking and reporting
  • Manage client communications and expectations throughout the project
  • Collaborate closely with site superintendents, vendors, and architects
  • Lead progress meetings and issue updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Enforce site safety standards and company protocols
  • Resolve construction issues efficiently and professionally
  • Submit change orders, RFIs, and submittals in a timely manner
  • Ensure project milestones and deadlines are consistently met
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of accountability and learning
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple residential and or commercial projects
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in reading plans, schedules, and construction documents
  • Knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and construction safety standards
  • Ability to lead meetings and coordinate across diverse teams
  • Professional, consistent, and goal‑oriented work ethic
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project) preferred
  • No formal degree required—experience and reliability matter most

Full‑Time

Monday–Friday

Occasional Weekend Work and Overtime as Needed

On‑site — Primary projects based locally within the service area of Vonnegut Construction Inc.

Must be able to travel to job sites as needed
