Schedule: Part‑Time. Monday – Sunday (approx. 12 hours per week).
Location: Beverly Hills / Santa Monica.
The Behavior Support Staff member provides on‑site behavioral and emotional support to participants in The Miracle Project's in‑person classes. This role is key to ensuring a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all. Working alongside teaching artists and the Program Director & Clinical Supervisor, this team member helps co‑regulate participants, model supportive strategies, and assist with de‑escalation when needed. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience supporting neurodivergent individuals in educational or community‑based settings, brings a calm and confident presence, and aligns with strengths‑based, person‑centered practices.
Availability- Sundays | 10:00 am‑4:30 pm (Santa Monica)
- Tuesdays | 4:30 pm‑6:15 pm (Beverly Hills) – possible extension to 7:45 pm
- Wednesdays | 4:00 pm‑7:30 pm (Beverly Hills)
- Provide real‑time behavioral and emotional support to neurodivergent participants in group classes.
- Offer co‑regulation, redirection, and calm presence during moments of dysregulation or distress.
- Support physical safety for participants and staff, including during escalated or high‑energy behaviors.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to reinforce trauma‑informed, relationship‑based support strategies.
- Use non‑violent crisis intervention tools when appropriate.
- Report significant incidents or patterns to the Program Director & Clinical Supervisor.
- Model respectful, person‑centered support approaches for teaching staff and volunteers.
- Help ensure a culture of belonging where all participants feel seen, respected, and safe.
- At least 2 years of experience working with neurodivergent individuals or individuals with developmental disabilities in classroom, recreational, or therapeutic settings.
- Experience navigating or supporting behavioral escalations in inclusive, person‑centered environments.
- Calm, grounded, and collaborative under pressure.
- Comfortable supporting individuals of varying physical sizes and energy levels.
- Familiarity with trauma‑informed care, positive behavior supports, or similar relational models.
- BCBA, BCaBA, or RBT certification is welcome but not required.
- Pre‑employment Live Scan fingerprinting and background check through the California Department of Justice.
- Seven Keys/Rehearsing for Life methodology training every year.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention training every year.
- CA Mandated Reporter Training (Supervisory) every two years.
- Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (Supervisory) every two years.
- CPR/AED/First Aid Adult & Children Certification every two years.
- Proof of a negative TB Test every four years.
