ObjectiveThe Company is seeking a sharp, motivated individual with attention to detail and ability to take full ownership of assigned tasks. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the finance department performing a full range of tasks including, but not limited to, banking activities, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, general expenses, month end activities and other accounting related work.
Essential Functions/Job Duties- Work as a key member of the finance department demonstrating a deep understanding of professional accounting.
- Perform daily and weekly cash accounting and bank reconciliations.
- Create and maintain support schedules for prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and general expenses.
- Manage all aspects of fixed assets, WIP tracking, capitalization vs expense, depreciation, and disposals.
- Record journal entries, review supporting work papers, reconcile accounts, and prepare month-end closing reports.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget and semi-annual reforecasts.
- Prepare budget to actual analyses on a monthly basis, interpret KPIs, and key trends.
- Participate in month-end closing meetings with Management (President and CFO).
- Work with external auditors for the annual financial statement audit and tax returns. Prepare work papers for the financial statement audit.
- Maintain annual report calendar and file online submissions on a routine basis.
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain information needed to reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Troubleshoot account reconciliation variances and resolve timely.
- Ad hoc report analysis using extensive spreadsheet skills including pivot tables, vlookup formulas, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 3+ years of related accounting experience.
- Public accounting experience or audit experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of assigned tasks.
- Knowledge of internal controls and US GAAP.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks with daily, weekly and monthly deliverables.
- Organized, detail oriented, and quality-focused.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Google Office Suite or Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP systems.
