Part of the Nederman Group, Auburn delivers products and services that are leading solutions for preventing hazardous particulate emissions from process industries (power, cement, steel, etc.) improving filtration and overall plant operation efficiency in powder processing industries (pharmaceutical, food, chemical, etc.), and capturing and controlling dust generated within industrial discrete manufacturing industries (automotive, woodworking, welding, etc.).

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking an Engineering & AMS Manager to lead our Engineering and Services teams, ensuring that our services meet market demands and support business growth.

Position Summary:

The Engineering & AMS Manager will oversee all engineering activities related to the production of sensors, controllers, electrical control panels, and automation solutions. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure the successful execution of engineering projects. The Engineering & AMS Manager will also be responsible for supporting after-market services by providing technical guidance and innovation for service-related offerings.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering & AMS teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Resource planning: Oversee resource planning, recruitment, and team skill development to meet both project and organizational needs.
  • Continuous improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean 6sigma projects, and ensure alignment with business goals and timelines.
Project Management & Delivery
  • Manage and oversee the design, development, and execution of engineering projects, including electrical control panels, and automation systems.
  • Ensure project timelines, budgets, and technical specifications are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, and Research & Development, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and ensure risk management practices are in place.
Technical Excellence
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for all product designs and engineering activities.
  • Oversee the technical accuracy and validation of Bill of Materials (BOM), design schematics, and product testing.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for any engineering-related issues, ensuring robust corrective actions are taken.
After-Market Services
  • Provide technical leadership for the after-market services division, ensuring that service offerings are robust and provide value-added solutions to clients.
  • Support customer issue resolution, providing engineering expertise for troubleshooting and technical improvements.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all engineering activities meet ISO 9000 quality standards and adhere to environmental policies in compliance with ISO 14000.
  • Establish and maintain engineering quality assurance processes and testing protocols to ensure high levels of product reliability.
  • Conduct engineering audits and ensure compliance with both internal and external regulatory standards.
  • Lead innovation efforts within the engineering team to stay ahead of industry trends and technologies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting Lean 6sigma methodologies, process optimization, and efficiency improvements in design and production.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field). A Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering management role within a manufacturing or automation environment.
  • Strong knowledge of sensors, controllers, electrical control panels, and automation systems.
  • Experience in project management with the ability to handle complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proven experience with ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with Lean 6sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the automation industry and after-market services.
  • Knowledge of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 trends.
  • Strong familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and control system integration.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) and Lean 6sigma Black Belt is an asset.
