As an Assistant Controller at The Beverly Hills Hotel, your compensation will range between $100,000‑$105,000 annually.
What you’ll doYou’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests. A day in the life of our Assistant Controller demands high levels of energy and consistency, even though the days are never alike. The following responsibilities are essential:
- Partner with the Hotel Controller, senior financial leadership and hotel management to align operational needs with financial requirements.
- Ensure all financial reporting is accurate and complete as required by senior corporate office and owners.
- Instill and maintain a strong internal control environment that protects the assets and resources of our organization, providing timely and accurate financial statements.
- Support the Hotel Controller and Area Director of Finance to ensure appropriate insurance coverage, timely contract renewals and permit compliance.
- Coordinate governmental reporting requirements and support the Hotel Controller in regulatory compliance.
- Directly manage and support the finance division employees, reviewing and implementing opportunities for improved efficiencies and internal controls.
- Collaborate with hotel operations to manage payroll cost and expense, focusing on guest‑centric initiatives and satisfaction.
- Assist in developing the annual Business Plan, Financial and Capital Budgets.
- Lead and drive the monthly P&L and Financial Statement preparation, including standard journal entries and corrections.
- Prepare monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, reviewing them with the Hotel Controller, ADOF and DOF HBA.
- Support staff accountants during annual audits (financial, 401(k), tax authorities).
- Reconcile capital purchases, approved projects in progress, and plan for future projects.
- Assist with quarterly/annual reporting to United States Census Bureau and Bureau of Economic Analysis.
- Ensure accurate daily, weekly and monthly accounting records.
- Alignment with our Vision, Values and culture, acting as an ambassador in all interactions.
- Proficiency in English for effective communication in our hotel environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred; extensive hotel accounting experience also acceptable.
- Commitment to teamwork, flexibility and the ability to thrive in a nonstop hotel environment.
