Trainee Estimator​/Estimating Assistant

We're working with a well-established and growing contractor who is looking to bring in a Trainee Estimator / Estimating Assistant as part of their long‑term growth plans.

This is an excellent opportunity for either:

• A graduate / HND / HNC‑qualified candidate looking to start a career in construction/commercial roles
• A bright, proactive individual currently on the tools who is looking to step into an office‑based position

You’ll be trained from the ground up, working closely with an experienced estimating team and learning how projects are priced, scoped, and won.

• Assisting with the preparation of estimates and tenders
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Supporting with take‑offs and cost breakdowns
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes
• Helping build accurate project pricing and proposals
• Working closely with senior estimators and commercial staff

• HND, HNC, or degree in construction, engineering, or a related field, or hands‑on site experience
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn – you need to be able to build relationships with clients and suppliers
• Ambition to build a long‑term career in estimating/commercial roles
• A practical mindset with an interest in how projects are delivered
• Attending site visits with clients
