A local authority based in Central Bexleyheath is seeking Customer Service Advisors to join its busy contact centre on an ongoing temporary basis.

This role is ideal for individuals with customer service, call centre, retail, hospitality or administration experience who are looking to gain valuable public sector experience.

The Role As the first point of contact for residents, you will handle a wide variety of inbound calls covering multiple council services. No two days will be the same, and you'll play an important role in helping residents access the support and information they need. You'll be expected to listen carefully, resolve enquiries efficiently and remain professional when dealing with sensitive or sometimes challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities Answer inbound calls from members of the public. Resolve a wide range of council-related enquiries. Provide accurate information and advice. Update customer records and maintain accurate notes. Escalate complex cases where necessary. Deliver excellent customer service at all times. Handle difficult and occasionally confrontational conversations professionally and calmly. About You We're looking for candidates who:
Have previous customer service or call centre experience. Are confident speaking on the phone. Possess excellent communication and listening skills. Remain calm under pressure. Can manage challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism. Have a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help people. Are reliable, resilient and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Have basic IT skills and are comfortable using multiple systems.
