Job Overview

Bexley Libraries are looking for dedicated and customer focused individuals to join the libraries team as a Customer Advisor. There are 4 posts available, with various hours between Monday and Saturday please note some posts include one late night per week until 7pm.

Location:

Central Library, Bexleyheath.

Applicants will demonstrate confidence, enthusiasm, energy and resilience in supporting the library team, delivering a wide range of services to the public.

• Issued and return books and other items
• Keep shelves tidy and attractive
• Help customers use our IT facilities
• Prepare and deliver children’s and adult events and activities
• Support colleagues in creating a welcoming and vibrant environment for all visitors
• Share knowledge of the wide range of books and other stock

• Flexibility, eagerness to learn, excellent customer service skills, a keen interest in books and reading
• Good IT skills
• Ability to work as part of a great team

As part of the libraries’ team, the post holder will be required to work in all libraries across the borough to cover absence, occasionally at short notice.
