This role involves working 1:1 with secondary-aged students preparing for their GCSE examinations, many of whom have Special Educational Needs (SEN). Sessions may take place in the student's home or a local community setting. We are looking for tutors who can build positive relationships, adapt their teaching strategies to meet additional needs, and deliver tailored lessons that support both academic progress and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and structured GCSE tuition sessions
Plan lessons in line with the national curriculum and exam board requirements
Differentiate learning to support students with SEN
Assess progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
Provide regular feedback on student development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience teaching or tutoring at GCSE level
Proven experience supporting students with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD)
Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, or Science (other subjects also considered)
A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Pay ranges from 25- 30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Flexible hours are available.
