Choice Teachers are currently working with a secondary school in Thamesmead who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Social Sciences Teacher
, Psychology Teacher
, or Sociology Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from September 2026
.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Social Sciences Teacher to teach Psychology and Sociology across KS3, KS4 and KS5 within a supportive and ambitious department. The school welcomes applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to begin their teaching career in a well-supported environment.

The successful candidate will be committed to delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and strong academic outcomes across the Social Sciences curriculum.

• Teach Psychology and Sociology across KS3, KS4 and KS5
• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students of all abilities
• Support students preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations
• Monitor student progress and raise attainment across Social Sciences
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
• Support students pastorally as a form tutor where required
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Have experience teaching Psychology
  , Sociology
  , or other Social Science subjects
• Be confident teaching across KS3-KS5
• Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Be passionate about teaching and learning
• Be able to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills
• ECTs are encouraged to apply
