Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for your next challenge within the water sector?
Our client, a leading contractor delivering major clean water infrastructure works in South London, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to support the delivery of a high-profile pipeline project within the Thames Water network. This opportunity is offered on an initial contract basis, with the potential to become longer term for the right candidate.
This role forms part of a strategic clean water infrastructure programme focused on enhancing network resilience and supporting future demand across the region.
About the Role
As Project Manager, you will take ownership of a significant clean water pipeline scheme, overseeing works from early planning through to completion. The project involves large diameter pipeline installation and associated infrastructure works delivered within a live operational environment.
You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and right-first-time delivery, managing programme, cost, quality and stakeholder engagement throughout. You will act as the primary interface between the delivery team, client representatives and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed project plans covering scope, programme, resources and budget
- Oversee day-to-day delivery of pipeline and associated civil works
- Ensure compliance with client standards, regulatory requirements and permit conditions
- Manage subcontractors and supply chain partners to drive performance and productivity
- Maintain accurate programme reporting, working closely with planning teams
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring proactive issue resolution
- Provide clear communication and reporting to senior stakeholders and the client
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the Water or Utilities sector
- Strong background delivering clean water pipeline or network infrastructure projects
- Experience working in live operational environments
- Solid understanding of project controls, cost management and programme management
- Knowledge of NEC contracts
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple work streams within a fast-paced infrastructure environment
