Summary
- The Head of Finance Business Partnering Childrens Services is a pivotal role within a local authority tasked with leading and delivering a high-performing finance business partnering function across all Childrens Services. This position serves as a strategic financial adviser to senior leaders offering financial insight challenge and support to facilitate informed decision-making service transformation and sustainable financial management. This is a 6-month contract role essential for driving financial strategies and ensuring fiscal responsibility within the Childrens Services sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Finance Business Partnering function for all Childrens Services.
- Provide strategic financial advice and support to Directors Heads of Service and senior stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted adviser influencing decision-making and ensuring financial considerations are embedded within service strategies and plans.
- Support the development and delivery of medium and long-term financial strategies.
Requirements:
Essential Experience Required
- Significant senior-level finance management experience within a large and complex organisation.
- Extensive experience of leading finance business partnering functions and delivering high-quality financial services.
- Experience supporting Childrens Services local government services public sector organisations or similarly complex service environments.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Fully qualified accountant with a recognised CCAB qualification (CIPFA ACA ACCA CIMA or equivalent).
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to strategic finance leadership.

- Working hours:
36 hours per week. - Location:
Civic Offices 2 Watling Street Bexleyheath Kent DA6 7AT
United Kingdom. - Work pattern:
Typically 2 days in the office per week but varies week on week. - The role closes on 1st August 2026 apply ASAP.
