The RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Domestic Team Leader to join our team at a residential care home. As the Domestic Team Leader, you will supervise and support a team of Domestic Assistants, ensuring the cleanliness and homely environment of the residential home while meeting the needs and wishes of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support a team of Domestic Assistants, ensuring daily cleaning rotas are covered.
- Carry out cleaning duties with minimal disruption to residents’ daily routines.
- Involve residents in the cleaning process, respecting their rights and preferences in arranging their living spaces.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure all cleaning duties are completed, including managing routine and emergency cleaning situations.
- Manage cleaning supplies, ordering materials while ensuring budgetary limits are met and keeping accurate records of materials, in line with COSHH regulations.
- Assist in the safekeeping of residents' clothing and personal belongings.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and fire regulations at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information about residents, staff, and the organisation.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate, empathetic approach when interacting with others.
- Proven ability to supervise, train, and motivate a team of Domestic Assistants.
- Flexible approach to work, with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Strong understanding of the needs of dependent older people.
- Ability to complete records in line with Avante Care and Support’s Quality Standards.
- Team player, with a focus on delivering a high standard of cleaning and service.
- Previous experience in supervising domestic staff in a residential care setting.
