Company Description   Little Lantern is a preschool in the heart of Kolkata, inspired by Finnish pedagogy and its emphasis on child-centered learning. The preschool is dedicated to nurturing young learners through creativity, curiosity, and play-based exploration. Its approach focuses on holistic child development, supporting cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth. Little Lantern aims to redefine early childhood education by creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive and feel valued.

Role Description   As an Early Childhood Educator at Little Lantern, you will design and deliver age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences that support holistic development. You will plan daily activities and lessons aligned with Finnish-inspired pedagogy, facilitate group and individual learning, and create a warm, inclusive classroom environment. Responsibilities include observing and documenting children’s progress, maintaining classroom organization and safety, and communicating regularly with families and colleagues about children’s learning and well-being.

You will collaborate with the teaching team to develop curriculum, prepare learning materials, and participate in staff meetings and professional development. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata.

Qualifications
Strong foundation in Early Childhood Development and experience working with preschool-age children.
Excellent Interpersonal Skills and ability to build trusting, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Demonstrated Creativity Skills in designing engaging, play-based learning activities and classroom environments.
Effective Organization Skills, including classroom management, lesson planning, and maintaining records and routines.
Passion for Working With Children and supporting their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field.
Ability to communicate clearly in English;
knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
Openness to Finnish-inspired pedagogy and willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
