Bicester And Recruit is recruiting a Product Engineering Manager for an established engineering business supplying engineered products into a range of industrial markets. Leading product engineering and product management teams, you will combine strategic responsibility with practical problem-solving, working closely with senior leadership to influence how the business develops its products and technical capabilities. The role offers scope for progression into a broader senior leadership position and would suit someone ready to bring ideas, take ownership and make a difference.

The Role Lead, coach and develop product engineering and product management teams, setting clear objectives and performance measures. Develop and deliver technical and product plans aligned with business objectives. Oversee product specifications, testing, approvals and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Maintain effective control of technical drawings, product records and product information within business systems. Lead investigations into product and supplier failures, driving root-cause analysis and effective corrective action.

Assess supplier capabilities and support technical audits, risk assessments and supplier development. Identify opportunities for value engineering, standardisation and cost reduction while maintaining quality and product performance. Coordinate new product development and introductions with sales, operations, quality, procurement, suppliers and customers. Support product range, pricing and margin decisions through technical and commercial analysis. Monitor emerging technologies, competitor products and market developments.

Report to senior leadership on technical risks, product performance and project delivery. Support continuity planning for critical products, suppliers, tooling and technical information. About You Experience managing an engineering, technical, product or quality function within an engineering or industrial products environment. A strong understanding of engineered products, technical specifications and product performance. Experience leading, coaching and developing teams. Knowledge of product quality, compliance, testing or approval processes.

Experience resolving product or supplier issues using structured problem-solving. Commercial awareness, including how engineering and sourcing decisions affect cost, pricing and profitability. Strong communication skills and confidence working with customers, suppliers and senior stakeholders. Experience managing technical documentation and product information within business systems.

Experience with mechanical components, industrial products, automotive or a related engineering sector would be beneficial. Candidates who have progressed from product or supplier quality into broader engineering or technical leadership are encouraged to apply. The Package £70,000 - £80,000 basic salary.
