About the Role of Workshop Supervisor

As the Workshop Supervisor (Inboard Engine Overhaul), you will lead the hands‑on rebuild, overhaul and servicing of inboard engines and associated products. • Organising daily workflow for yourself and the team to meet production deadlines.
  • Ensuring all finished goods are inspected, packed, labelled and presented correctly.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, well‑organised workshop environment.
  • Raising accurate quotations for engine rebuilds and services.
  • Assisting colleagues with technical queries and troubleshooting.
  • Ensuring all work is clocked and recorded accurately within time capture systems.
  • Overseeing tool and equipment calibration, care and security.
  • Supporting product testing, and assisting with exhibitions or off‑site demonstrations as required.
What They're Looking For in the Workshop Supervisor
  • A recognised engineering or marine engineering apprenticeship or diploma.
  • City & Guilds in Vehicle Mechanics/Engineering (welding/fabrication desirable).
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a busy workshop or production environment.
  • Strong background in engine rebuilds or new builds.
  • Practical knowledge of 4‑stroke petrol and diesel engines.
  • Experience leading a workshop team and handling day‑to‑day operational challenges.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety at Work.
  • Computer literacy and strong communication skills.
  • Forklift licence desirable (or willingness to obtain).
Why Join our Client?
  • A stable, long‑standing company where your expertise genuinely makes an impact.
  • Supportive management team and collaborative workshop environment.
  • Opportunities to influence and improve build standards, processes and efficiencies.
  • Training provided to expand your marine engine knowledge.
  • Varied and rewarding work—no two days are the same!

If you're a motivated Workshop Supervisor ready to lead from the front and deliver exceptional engineering standards, we want to hear from you.
