TIG Welder / Fabricator
Bicester | £42,000–£45,000 DOE | Monday–Friday, days 8 - 5
Our client is looking for an experienced TIG Welder / Fabricator to join a busy engineering workshop producing high-quality fabricated components and assemblies.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong TIG welding and fabrication experience, ideally with a varied background across sheet metal, stainless steel, aluminium or light fabrication work. The successful candidate will be confident working from engineering drawings, preparing materials, fabricating components and producing clean, accurate welds to a high standard.
The role is not purely a welding position. The client is looking for someone with broader fabrication capability who can support preparation, fitting, sheet metal work and general workshop activity where required.

Experience with press brake work, laser-cut parts, fabrication preparation or varied workshop processes would be beneficial.
Current welding coding is not essential, but candidates must be comfortable completing a weld test as part of the assessment process. Thin gauge TIG welding capability is essential.
Key responsibilities
Carry out high-quality TIG welding across different materials and thicknesses.
Fabricate components and assemblies from engineering drawings.
Measure, prepare, cut and fit materials for welding and fabrication.
Support varied fabrication tasks and general workshop activity.
Maintain accuracy, quality and safe working practices.
Support occasional customer site work when required; the role is primarily workshop-based.
Skills and experience
Proven TIG welding and fabrication experience.
Strong thin gauge welding capability, alongside experience with different material thicknesses.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Good preparation, fitting and general workshop skills.
Confident using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
MIG welding experience would be beneficial. Experience in automotive, aerospace, motor sport, precision engineering or other varied fabrication environments would also be relevant.
What's on offer
Salary of £42,000–£45,000, depending on experience.
Monday–Friday daytime working.
Varied workshop projects.
Regular overtime opportunities, including weekend overtime paid at time and a half.
