We are seeking an enthusiastic Practice Nurse to complement the role of the GP and other health professionals and be an integral part and key member of the care team.
Your role will be to use clinical skills within the practice to promote well‑being, maximise health gain for patients and provide a safe, high‑quality accessible treatment room service.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a primary care setting, preferably as a Practice Nurse. Additional qualifications in long‑term conditions such as COPD, asthma, diabetes and CHD, contraception and travel service are desirable.

Responsibilities- Compliment the role of the GP and other health professionals as a key member of the care team.
- Use clinical skills to promote well‑being and maximise health gain for patients.
- Provide safe, high‑quality and accessible treatment room service to the practice population.
- Deliver care in a friendly, supportive teamwork environment.
- Clear understanding of clinical governance and guidelines.
- Experience working in a primary care setting/G‑P practice.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Experience with patients with long‑term conditions.
- Experience working autonomously and treating patients.
- Experience using Emis Web.
- Asthma/COPD experience.
- Complex wound care experience.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Physical examination skills.
- Influencing and assertiveness.
- Team working appreciation.
- Commitment to ongoing training and development.
- Immunisation skills.
- Ability to work with patients and staff in emotional circumstances.
- Clinical judgement in complex situations.
- Meeting deadlines, good time management.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word).
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Experience working with young children.
- Supervisor / Assessor / Mentor experience.
- Certification in travel vaccination.
- General Certificate Practice (Research).
- Diabetes diploma.
- Independent Prescriber.
- Registered with the NMC.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
- Certification of competency in child immunisation.
- Certification of competency Cytology.
The post requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
