Materials Technician

We are seeking a Materials Technician to support Evolito’s Materials Engineering team. In this role, you will prepare and test parts and samples to investigate the behaviour of materials and components, and manage day‑to‑day operations of the materials laboratory.

• Perform mechanical, chemical, and physical tests on raw materials and finished products
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., tensile tester, grinder/polisher, microscopes)
• Record and interpret test data, ensuring accuracy and traceability
• Prepare detailed test reports and maintain laboratory records
• Manage the efficient operation of associated workshop, lab and storage areas
• Construct and safely use simple test fixtures when required for investigation of the behaviour of materials and components
• Practice and promote personal workplace safety and that of others
• Ensure compliance with ISO, ASTM, or other relevant standards

• Previous proven experience working in a relevant sector, such as aerospace, materials testing, automotive, or scientific research
• Knowledge of material properties (metals, polymers, composites)
• Familiarity with testing standards (ISO, ASTM)
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
• Consistent attention to detail and accuracy in all areas
• A flexible, collaborative, and ‘can‑do’ attitude
• Good verbal and written communication skills
