Job Description:

Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, you will take hands-on leadership of a national team of Area Sales Managers and Sales Agents, driving performance across the UK independent garden centre sector. This is a role for a sales leader energised by being close to the customer and the team, turning strategy into results through coaching, discipline and a relentless focus on growth.

Key Responsibilities Deliver sales, margin and profitability targets across the UK independent garden centre sector Lead, coach and develop a national team of Area Sales Managers and Sales Agents through joint customer visits and structured performance management Drive new customer acquisition, ranging, upselling and cross-selling across independent garden centres, specialist retailers, hardware stores and buying groups Own territory planning, CRM discipline, forecasting and sales reporting Build senior relationships with key customers and represent Barrus at trade events Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Services, Supply Chain and Operations

Required:

In order to maximise the success of this role, we are looking for an experienced sales leader with expert knowledge of the Uk independent garden centre market. The job holder should have a deep understanding of the different sales strategies required to meet the needs of independent garden centres, buying groups and national groups. Within your CV we should also see:
Proven experience leading a field-based sales team Strong knowledge of the UK independent garden centre sector A track record of hitting commercial targets Strong coaching skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel extensively across the UK Salary/Benefits Information: £negotiable salary  performance based bonus  discretionary annual bonus, pension scheme, private health cover, EAP scheme, company car (electric and PHEV options), company credit card, 25 days paid holiday plus bank holidays.
