HGV Class 1 Driver

Location: Launton

D  Group, acting as a Recruitment Business, are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to work at our client who are a household name in the Driving Industry, in Bolton, Manchester. Our client is a small family business and have been in road haulage since the late 1940s and are very well established. They are based in Bolton and currently have 5 drivers in their team.

You must have at least 2 years Class 1 Driving experience, for their insurance purposes. This role is a temporary to permanent position. The Job Working for a well-recognised road haulage company. Little to no handball work, 95% of their work is to Regional Distribution Centres. Basic contracted hours are 40 hours plus overtime (usually between 15-20). Night out rate is £26 per night (usually 4 nights per week).

Vehicle is a 2024 Volvo FH460 with automatic gearbox. You are paid a minimum 8 hours per shift. NEST is their pension provider. Uniform is provided. Minimum age of 25 years old with 2 years driving experience for our insurance. The Pay (PAYE) Hourly Rate: £15.00 to £22.50 per hour Night Out Payment: £26.00 per night as a paid expense.

Key Skills Required Class 1 (Category CE) Licence Entitlement. In Date CPC Card and Tacho Card. Physically fit and able to carry out the role. Excellent Geographical knowledge. Excellent Communication skills. Excellent Customer service skills. A sound understanding of the WTD and Drivers hours rules.
