FMI's manufacturing facility has been a leading solutions provider of high temperature materials and composites for more than 50 years, serving the Department of Defense and NASA. The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips, rocket motor throats, and nozzles.
Our materials are used in space initiatives like the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and NASA's Mars 2020 mission heat shield, as well as in missile programs, jet engine airfoils, and lightweight armor for military vehicles.
Your role: FMI seeks a motivated and self-starting FP & A Analyst to join our Finance team. You will work closely with the Director of Finance, performing Financial Planning and Analysis, including quarterly, annual, and long-term forecasts for GAAP and Governmental cost accounting. You will collaborate with program managers, engineers, operations, and senior management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform financial scenario analyses
- Analyze contract performance
- Calculate estimates for contract completion
- Prepare monthly reporting and government property reporting
- Create and validate revenue forecasts and monthly reports
- Prepare Estimate at Complete (EAC) audit workbooks
- Establish an integrated revenue forecasting process using over-time revenue recognition methodology
- Support, analyze, and validate select contract EACs
- Develop allocation procedures within SAGE for overhead and G&A expenses
- Enhance gross profit reporting by customer and product line, including analysis and recommendations
- Manage budget and forecasting cycles by department and function
- Report on expense budget variances and recommend improvements
- Assist with annual government incurred cost submissions
What we need from you:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of GAAP financial statements and best practices
- Knowledge of cost accounting
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines under changing priorities
- Creative problem-solving skills, in tune with senior management
- Extensive Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems like SAGE
