Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Machinist
Trueline’s client, a growing precision metal fabrication company, is seeking a CNC Sheet Metal Cutting Machine Programmer to join their Engineering team in Biddeford. This role focuses on programming CNC sheet metal cutting systems, optimizing part designs, and supporting production with accurate, efficient programs that help drive quality and throughput. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Solid Works and CAM experience to make an impact in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
WhatYou’ll Do as the CNC Sheet Metal Cutting Machine Programmer:
- Program CNC sheet metal cutting and press brake machines including laser punch combination systems.
- Use Solid Works to interpret customer drawings and optimize part designs for manufacturing.
- Create flat patterns and import into CAM software for nesting and programming tasks.
- Verify work orders for completeness and accuracy before programming.
- Support production by resolving tooling, programming, and design-related issues.
- Develop detailed build drawings for shop floor use when necessary.
- Partner with customers and internal teams to suggest manufacturability and design improvements.
- Manage change requests and maintain controlled documentation.
- Review CNC programs and peer drawings to ensure quality and compliance.
- Associate degree or technical certificate in a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of Solid Works CAD experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of CAM programming experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with metal fabrication processes and CNC programming.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general technical tools.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Sigma Nest or similar nesting/CAM software.
- Familiarity with Amada laser punch, Ensis laser, and similar systems.
- Competitive hourly pay range $30.00 to $37.00 based on experience.
