In Maine, FMI focuses on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high‑temperature components such as thermal protection systems, re‑entry vehicle nose tips, rocket motor throats and nozzles.
Our materials are used on ground‑breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi‑Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA’s Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.
Job SummaryThe Production Operator for the Densification team is a safety and goal‑oriented team player who supports our manufacturing team.
Schedule:
Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–6:00pm.
- Loading/unloading, operating and monitoring high‑temperature and high‑pressure equipment
- Inspecting products to ensure specifications are met
- Performing mechanical maintenance of equipment
- Performing data calculations
Recording process data and manufacturing records for processes, parts, and materials - Working in a team environment
- Opportunity to learn and apply Lean principles as part of Continuous Improvement activities
- Minimum GED or High School Diploma
- Previous manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Ability to read, write and understand job specifications
- Basic math aptitude
