Production Engineer

Responsible for the development, management & support of Production Engineering Artifacts. This will include production support throughout all phases of the construction programme.

• Liaising with peers from other disciplines and sites across the Group.
• Scheduling work orders throughout each phase of the programme from Cut Steel to Delivery.
• Creation of Work Orders and supporting documentation.
• Manage Footprint allocation within Appledore Business Unit.
• Development of Bill of Materials for each work order and phase throughout the programme.
• Support production with Drawing requirements, Work Order management, Material Management & schedule adherence.
• Development of build strategy booklets and work quantities for Structure, Pipe and Outfitting.
• Review production processes and implement improvements through Project initiatives.
• Management of SAP requirements for Production teams – Inspections, Quality Documentation, Progress Reporting, Q3 Requirements & Request to Attends.
• Development and input of Hours & Progress into SAP Systems.
• Support Risk Management for each phase of the programme.
• Develop and manage production readiness reviews for each block and macro.
• Represent Production Engineering team during meetings and workshops with other NUK Business Units and NAV ES Business Units.
• Development and management of Project trackers and Reporting requirements.

• Third level qualification in a relevant subject
• Experience in a production, manufacturing, or production engineering environment
• Strong exposure to complex, multi‑phase build programmes (e.g. shipbuilding, heavy engineering, oil & gas)
• Practical understanding of production from cut steel through to final delivery
• Hands‑on experience creating and managing work orders across multiple build phases
• Proven ability to plan and schedule work in a live production environment with competing priorities
• Experience balancing capacity, footprint, materials, and labour availability
• Ability to interpret and manage engineering drawings (structure, pipe, outfitting)
• Experience developing build strategies, sequencing, and work quantities
