Registered Nurse - Lower Limb Therapy Services - Fixed term Contract required until 5/11/2026.
We are delighted to be able to offer a fixed term post within our specialist service which has come available secondary to maternity leave. This opportunity is ideal for an individual wishing to focus on lower limbs and wound care. This is a peripatetic role so there is scope for travel across our sites in North Devon ensuring variety within the working day.
Potential applicants will be required to demonstrate current evidenced based best practice as per national guidance and service specification to support the effective assessment and treatment of lower limb wounds to the affected patient group. Including admission avoidance tasks, timely referral to specialists as per clinical indication, effective and safe manning of Leg Ulcer Clinics and the delivery of F2F patient care.
Essential Skills/Requirements:
Doppler and ABPI competency, Holistic Assessment, clinical competence in the management of lower limb wounds in line with NWCSP and NICE recommendations, wound care and dressing selection - driving licence and Valid NMC registration.

Registered Nurse - Lower Limb Therapy Services
To assess, provide and review nursing care, advice and information to patients and carers within the leg ulcer clinic environment, occasionally seeing patients in other care settings and their own home.
To provide individualised care and education to patients enabling them to maximise their independence and optimise their quality of life.
To work under the direction of the Leg Ulcer Nurse Specialist band 6 and the Leg Ulcer Manager using their skills and knowledge as a Registered Nurse.
Possible opportunities include, once confident and competent, being able to hold a designated caseload and deputise in the absence of the Nurse Specialist once knowledge, competencies and experience are gained.
