Swiss Battery Technology Center (SBTC) drives applied R&D in energy production and storage, offering prototyping, testing, and innovation services. SBTC’s focus is on sustainable solutions, including second-life and recycling of lithium-ion batteries, to extend product life cycles and promote circular economy principles. This position is carried out in close collaboration with the Japanese-Swiss start-up Green Science Alliance (GSA), which specializes in sustainable direct recycling processes for end-of-life lithium-ion batteries
From 1 January 2027 on a 1 year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension, we seek to strengthen our team
Your Profile- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, material science, chemical engineering, or related disciplines
- Good practical laboratory experience in electrode manufacturing and coin cell assembly for electrochemical testing
- Practical knowledge in conducting electrochemical performance testing of batteries
- English spoken and written is a requirement, German and French are an advantage
- Applied research at SBTC in collaboration with GSA
- Laboratory work focused on the purification and regeneration of active materials
- Fabrication of electrodes and coin cells and electrochemical performance testing
- Data analysis and preparation of research reports
- One-year contract with the possibility of extension
- Working in a dynamic interdisciplinary team with backgrounds in chemistry, electrical and mechanical engineering, computer vision, automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence
