Advertised Salary: $12.48- $13.24 Summary of Position:

The student Member Service position is the primary point of contact for students, members, and guests, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive experience. This position will be responsible for the entrance and exit point of the Student Recreation Center. In addition, this position will operate the POS system used to sell memberships, day passes, rental equipment, and programming sales.

Position Requirements:
  • Previous experience in POS systems is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or sales environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • As an individual that is handling money during your shift on behalf of the University, is required that Human Resources obtain your background check to determine your eligibility to handle money transactions.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Control the entrance into the Student Recreation Center by making sure all students and members swipe their card and are granted access.
  • Greet students, members, and guests with a kind, welcoming attitude.
  • Ensure that non-members or guests follow the proper procedures for gaining entry.
  • Operate the POS system to process payments for memberships and other items the SRC sells or rents out.
  • Assist members with inquiries related to billing and payments
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing member inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Assist students and members with navigating the facility and understanding available services and programs
