Performs phlebotomy tasks in a physician office setting, ensuring accurate specimen collection and patient care.
Qualifications- Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. - Experience:
Knowledge of medical laboratory practices, procedures, medical terminology, lab manuals, formularies, ICD-9, and reference lab procedures. - Certifications:
- Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (must obtain within 90 days). - Preferred:
Certification from ASCP Board of Registry or equivalent.
- Required:
- Perform phlebotomy procedures adhering to established protocols.
- Handle specimen collection, labeling, and processing accurately.
- Ensure compliance with medical and safety standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and confidentiality.
