AboutThe Role
We are currently seeking a Learning Facilitator to join our Foundation Additional learning support department at The Bedford College Group.
- Study Skills & Learner Development – Provides tailored one-to-one and small group support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, helping them develop literacy, numeracy and independent study skills.
- Learning Resources & Assistive Technology – Develops, maintains and promotes a range of learning resources, including assistive technologies, to enhance accessibility and support student success within the Study Centre.
- Assessment & Progress Monitoring – Administers and marks assessments, monitors attendance and engagement, maintains accurate student records and tracks progress to ensure effective support and positive outcomes.
- Collaboration & Service Improvement – Works closely with curriculum teams and managers to coordinate support, share information, improve services and ensure students receive appropriate and effective learning assistance.
- Professional Responsibilities & Compliance – Supports college events, maintains required documentation and records, and upholds safeguarding, equality, diversity, health & safety and continuous professional development responsibilities
- Qualifications & Educational Experience – Educated to Level 3 standard with GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, supported by experience working with learners in educational or care settings, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Learner Support & Professional Knowledge – Experienced in supporting students across a wide range of ages, abilities and vocational areas, with a sensitive and inclusive approach that promotes equality, diversity and positive learner outcomes.
- Administrative & Organisational Skills – Strong administrative, record-keeping and organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate documentation, meet deadlines, work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Communication & Teamwork – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build positive working relationships with students, colleagues and stakeholders while contributing constructively to team objectives and promoting the College's values.
- Professionalism & Safeguarding – Positive, adaptable and flexible, committed to safeguarding, maintaining professional boundaries, continuous development, health & safety compliance and supporting services across all college locations.
