Engineering Planner Blunham (Onsite)
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Engineering Planner to join our team at our Blunham site. This is a pivotal role within the engineering function, responsible for ensuring all maintenance and engineering activities are effectively planned, scheduled, and executed to the highest standards.
Role Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance plans and schedules
- Coordinate planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective work
- Prioritise tasks in line with operational needs and business objectives
- Plan and allocate labour, materials, tools, and equipment effectively
- Liaise with stores and procurement to ensure parts availability
- Track progress against plans, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions
- Validate completion of work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and closure
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site standards
- Identify risks to production and engineering activities and implement mitigation plans
- Analyse data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Produce reports on performance, progress and key metrics
- Act as a key link between engineering, operations, and external contractors
- Plan and coordinate contractor activities, ensuring compliance with site requirements
- Organised, analytical and able to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in an engineering or maintenance planning role
- Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience working cross‑functionally with multiple stakeholders
- Experience using SAP PM or a similar maintenance management system (desirable)
- Knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning methodologies (desirable)
- Experience with in manufacturing, packaging or FMCG environments (desirable)
