FC Engineering Recruitment is working with an established engineering and manufacturing business in Sandy, Bedfordshire, who are looking to recruit a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience designing special purpose machinery and bespoke mechanical equipment.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative machinery and mechanical solutions from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.

• Designing special purpose machinery and bespoke mechanical equipment
• Producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Solid Works
• Taking projects from concept through to detailed design and manufacture
• Producing assemblies, component drawings and Bills of Materials
• Working closely with manufacturing, project and production teams
• Supporting the development and improvement of existing machinery and equipment
• Ensuring designs meet relevant engineering and safety requirements

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer or similar
• Strong experience using Solid Works
• Experience designing special purpose machinery, automated equipment or bespoke machinery
• A good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes
• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and BOMs
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
