Overview

OA Recruitment are currently recruiting for Production Operatives on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Biggleswade
. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company with the potential for a temporary-to-permanent position for the right candidates.

Hours and Pay

We have vacancies available on the following shifts:

  • Rotating shifts: 6:00am - 2:00pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm
  • Night shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am

Candidates must be flexible to work the shift pattern required.

  • Starting rate: £12.90 per hour
  • After 12 weeks: £14.19 per hour
  • Overtime paid at enhanced rates where applicable.
Duties of a Production Operative

As a Production Operative, you will play a key role in the manufacturing process. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating production machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Weighing and preparing raw materials in line with production specifications.
  • Monitoring production processes to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Loading and unloading materials and finished products.
  • Packing, labelling, and preparing products for dispatch.
  • Carrying out basic quality checks and reporting any faults or defects.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment.
  • Following all health and safety procedures, company policies, and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Working as part of a team to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • A strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A flexible approach to work and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to undertake a physically demanding role, including lifting items weighing up to 25kg.
  • A commitment to following health and safety procedures at all times.
