Position:
Electro Mechanical Assembly Technician

Location:

Biggleswade

Salary: £37,400 per annum (Permanent Contract)

The Role

This is a full‑time, on‑site role in Biggleswade. You will assemble mechanical and electronic components, handle electrical wiring, and use hand tools to perform mechanical assembly. You will work with electronics manufacturing processes and ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble systems, electronic enclosures, and tower components according to technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Carry out wiring, crimping, and electrical connections with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Conduct functional testing and assist with quality assurance checks prior to dispatch.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve assembly efficiency and resolve technical issues.
  • Follow company procedures and contribute to continuous improvement in production processes.
  • Assist with stock handling, component preparation, and workshop organisation as required.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in a workshop or factory environment (electrical, mechanical, or assembly background preferred).
  • Strong practical skills and attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to follow assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, and safety procedures.
  • Basic understanding of tools, electrical components, and mechanical fittings.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Desirable Skills (Training Provided)
  • Use of hand tools, crimping tools, multimeters, and test equipment.
  • Familiarity with low‑voltage systems and cable management.
  • Forklift, PAT testing, or workshop safety training (advantageous but not essential).
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes.

PM Shift: 2pm to 10pm, 40 hours per week
