Our client is a well-established, multi-disciplinary property consultancy delivering Building Surveying, Project Management and consultancy services across the education, public and private sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out stock condition surveys across a varied portfolio of predominantly education properties throughout Essex, with a mixture of home working, office attendance and regular site visits.

- Full-time, permanent position
- Undertake detailed stock condition surveys across education, public sector and commercial properties
- Inspect internal and external building elements, identifying defects, deterioration and maintenance requirements
- Assess the condition of building components and apply condition, priority and lifecycle ratings
- Produce accurate survey reports, photographic records and recommendations for repair or replacement
- Collect and record survey data using tablets and specialist asset management software
- Support planned maintenance programmes, lifecycle planning and capital investment reporting
- Review existing property information, drawings and asset registers before undertaking surveys
- Escalate significant defects, compliance concerns and health & safety issues where appropriate
- Liaise professionally with clients, site representatives and stakeholders throughout the survey process
- Attend the office as required for meetings, reporting and project coordination
- Travel regularly to client sites throughout Essex, with occasional travel to surrounding areas
- Previous experience undertaking Stock Condition Surveys, Building Condition Surveys or similar property inspections
- Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Architectural Technology, Property or similar, or equivalent industry experience
- Good understanding of building construction, common defects and planned maintenance
- Experience producing clear technical reports and accurately recording survey data
- Competent using Microsoft Office and digital surveying or asset management software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel regularly
- Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
- Experience surveying education or wider public sector estates
- Experience using specialist stock condition or asset management software
- Knowledge of planned maintenance and lifecycle reporting
- Membership of, or working towards, RICS or CIOB
