Our client is a well-established, multi-disciplinary property consultancy delivering Building Surveying, Project Management and consultancy services across the education, public and private sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out stock condition surveys across a varied portfolio of predominantly education properties throughout Essex, with a mixture of home working, office attendance and regular site visits.

Job Overview
  • Undertake detailed stock condition surveys across education, public sector and commercial properties
  • Inspect internal and external building elements, identifying defects, deterioration and maintenance requirements
  • Assess the condition of building components and apply condition, priority and lifecycle ratings
  • Produce accurate survey reports, photographic records and recommendations for repair or replacement
  • Collect and record survey data using tablets and specialist asset management software
  • Support planned maintenance programmes, lifecycle planning and capital investment reporting
  • Review existing property information, drawings and asset registers before undertaking surveys
  • Escalate significant defects, compliance concerns and health & safety issues where appropriate
  • Liaise professionally with clients, site representatives and stakeholders throughout the survey process
  • Attend the office as required for meetings, reporting and project coordination
  • Travel regularly to client sites throughout Essex, with occasional travel to surrounding areas
Job Requirements
  • Previous experience undertaking Stock Condition Surveys, Building Condition Surveys or similar property inspections
  • Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Architectural Technology, Property or similar, or equivalent industry experience
  • Good understanding of building construction, common defects and planned maintenance
  • Experience producing clear technical reports and accurately recording survey data
  • Competent using Microsoft Office and digital surveying or asset management software
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel regularly
  • Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
Desirable
  • Experience surveying education or wider public sector estates
  • Experience using specialist stock condition or asset management software
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance and lifecycle reporting
  • Membership of, or working towards, RICS or CIOB
