Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and technically strong Design Manager with proven experience using AutoCAD and Procore. The successful candidate will lead the design function, manage workflows, and work closely with Projects and Commercial teams to ensure timely and cost‑efficient delivery of multiple high‑end fit‑out projects.
Primary Duties- Manage workflow of design team in coordination with Project Managers.
- Manage subcontract design resources when required.
- Lead design meetings with clients, architects, and consultants.
- Ensure all design proposals remain within budget plans.
- Coordinate with Commercial team to ensure cost implications of changes are actioned.
- Promote continued development of design staff and internal systems.
- Onboard subcontractors and suppliers to achieve best value.
- Manage release of information from suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Review initial design details and provide improvement input.
- Manage client aspirations, offering alternative products and design solutions where required.
- Source and select materials for client/architect review.
- Liaise with site teams to organise site surveys and setting out.
- Control purchasing of specialist items, manage costs, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Conduct staff appraisals and identify resourcing needs.
- Review subcontractor/supplier works prior to delivery to ensure quality standards.
- Work with Logistics team to coordinate deliveries of specialist items.
- Review, modify, and produce drawings using AutoCAD (GA drawings, layouts, details, joinery, etc.).
- Manage all design workflows and documentation in Procore including drawings, revisions, RFIs, submittals, and registers.
- Ensure thorough version control and accurate distribution of design information.
- Support the estimating team with tender design queries and proposal documentation.
- Assist with delivery schedules and purchasing queries.
- Respond to design queries from site teams.
- Support estimating with tender submissions and design proposals.
- Experience in interior fit‑out / high‑end projects.
- Strong communication skills with ability to build strong professional relationships.
- Broad knowledge of trades involved in high‑end fit‑out (trade background preferred).
- Strong problem‑solving capability and buildability awareness.
- Ability to work well under pressure and support colleagues.
- Commercial awareness regarding costs and timescales.
- Experience using Procore or similar document control platforms.
