We are looking for a Test Technician to join our Documentation Department in Essex. The role will involve carrying out detailed testing of automated equipment before and during customer acceptance testing, ensuring systems operate as designed and meet required specifications.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Automation Engineers, and Engineering Technicians to execute test protocols, report results, and support the delivery of high-quality automated machinery.

• Execute detailed test protocols for automated equipment
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and associated automation systems
• Complete all required testing documentation and reports
• Identify and report incidents, deviations, or failures during testing
• Work with engineering teams to resolve issues identified during testing
• Provide feedback to improve testing processes and efficiency
• Liaise with customer validation teams during FAT and on-site testing

• Formal engineering qualification
• Basic understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks such as Profinet or Ethernet/IP
• Understanding of automated equipment or production machinery
• Experience using MS Office, including Word and Excel

• Previous experience performing formal testing on automated machinery or equipment
• Experience with commissioning or testing production line equipment
• Exposure to systems such as vision systems or weighing equipment
