Claims Executive – Lloyd & Whyte (Direct Corporate Risks)
Salary: Up to £39,000.00 (depending on experience)
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Duration: Permanent
Location: Billericay, England, UK
We are seeking an experienced Claims Specialist to join our Direct Corporate Risks team within the Claims department at our Billericay office. The successful candidate will provide exceptional client service and manage claims promptly, fairly, and efficiently to achieve team targets and support the business strategy.
Responsibilities- Ensure all required documentation in support of claims (e.g. report forms, witness statements, proofs of value, registration documents and loss assessor’s reports) are dealt with as a priority.
- Negotiate with insurers, as required, in relation to the settlement of claims, both in respect of policy liability and settlement amount.
- Assist clients in the pursuit of any uninsured losses sustained as part of a claim.
- Prepare bordereau information and submit to insurers in the required format and within the agreed timescales, including regular auditing of the delegated authority arrangement.
- Advise clients on their options should insurers refuse indemnity under any particular policy or offer a final settlement figure below original expectations.
- Excellent communication confidence in face‑to‑face, telephone and email interactions.
- Strong organisational skills: maintain an accurate diary system for all outstanding claims, chase regularly and keep client records up to date.
- Proactive attitude: first point of contact for customers reporting all types of claim, ensuring prompt and accurate advice.
- Proven experience within a claims role, preferably motor claims; experience in goods and transit is desirable.
- Sound knowledge of the UK insurance industry.
- Proven experience within a motor claims role.
- Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Insurance, or currently working towards it.
