Salary: up to £33.57/hour

The purpose of the role is to deliver highly effective modules at International Foundation Year (Pre Undergraduate, level 3 and Pre masters, level
6), in the Centre and via online teaching. We are looking for candidates with a range of experience in delivering Psychology teaching.

ABOUT

THE ROLE
  • Delivering modules (online and face‑to‑face) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre and assisting with the development of modules.
  • Developing modules from module specifications. This will include schemes of learning along with appropriate development of learning resources.
  • Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, marking and providing feedback to students.
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of the Centre’s virtual learning environment (VLE). Facilitating student access to same.
  • Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process.
  • Maintaining an accurate and up‑to‑date record of student attendance and performance.
  • Providing, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students.
  • Participating in regular meetings with teaching and support staff.
  • Supporting various student engagement activities around the ISC.
  • Attending lectures given by Durham University to support student progression.
  • Arranging and supporting visits to places of interest linked to subject.
ABOUT YOU
  • A recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in a related subject area
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Teaching experience delivering Psychology programmes within a Further Education or Higher Education context
  • Experience of working with international students online and face to face (Desirable)
  • Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e‑mail, etc)
  • Confident practitioner online (e.g. use of Teams/Zoom) and face to face
  • Able to master a wide range of online teaching software
  • A student‑centred approach
  • Strong record‑keeping skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Strong sense of teamwork
