Billingham UKJoin our Process Development organization and help develop, evaluate, and characterize upstream microbial processes that enable life-changing biotherapeutics. You’ll execute high-quality experimental work, generate reliable data, and contribute to tech transfer and reports that drive project decisions.

What you’ll do Execute experimental programs with guidance to develop, evaluate, and characterize upstream microbial processes for target molecules, with focus on Gene & Expression Vector design, DNA Cloning and Strain Construction.

Generate high-quality data; perform analytical assessments and basic characterization aligned with project goals.

Maintain rigorous, compliant documentation of experiments per PD quality procedures.

Support technology transfer across sites and departments, following defined requirements and workflows.

Prepare and contribute to internal/external reports, presentations, and project updates.

Operate to cGMP expectations where applicable and uphold EHS policies and safe working practices.

Collaborate in cross-functional teams and support the project lead with interdepartmental interactions.

What you’ll bringA relevant degree (e.g., Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemical/Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology) or 3+ years of relevant experience.

Hands-on experience in microbial upstream operations (e.g., shake flasks, bioreactors/fermenters, media/feed prep, aseptic technique).Familiarity with process development workflows, data recording, and documentation to quality standards.

Working knowledge of cGMP principles and strong EHS mindset.

Clear, concise communication skills; ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams and present results.

Experience supporting tech transfer between development and manufacturing or across sites.
