Position: On-site Civil Project Representative

Job Status: Non-exempt-Hourly

Location: Billings, MT

(Relocation assistance provided)

In this role, the Representative provides on-site construction observation on heavy civil projects and acts as a liaison between the construction site and the engineering team. These responsibilities include:

• Review construction plans and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and project requirements.
• Conduct on-site, documented observation to monitor construction progress, quality, and general compliance with design plans and specifications.
• Document and report any deviations from project requirements.
• Perform basic surveying, testing, and quantity measurements.
• Address any issues or concerns that arise during construction.
• Communicate project updates and milestones to stakeholders.
• Keep detailed records of daily activities and produce regular progress reports for project management.

• 3+ years of experience in civil engineering inspection or heavy construction-related work.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction site practices and safety protocols.
• Formal education in civil engineering, construction technology or civil engineering technology preferred.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
• Capable of working outside in the field and, at times, in remote locations at the project site for the duration of the project.
• Travel to and from the project site for extended periods of time; possibly longer assignments may be required up to months at a time.
