- Under the guidance of the paramedic program director and dean, prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction and develop coursework and syllabi.
- Evaluate student progress, maintain supplies and equipment, and prepare budget requests.
- Attend workshops, seminars and conferences to enhance knowledge and ensure safety and security requirements in the training area.
- Meet with students, staff, and educators to discuss progress and other issues; assist with recruitment and retention.
- Vigorously uphold a culture of academic integrity and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Deliver effective instruction in classrooms, labs and field environments; correctly assess educational needs and class progress.
- Select and obtain appropriate educational materials; prepare reports on student status and ensure alignment with performance indicators.
- Develop course outlines, goals and objectives; prepare curricula, including non‑traditional content and methods.
- Prepare reports for submission to supervisors within specified time frames; teach online courses per guidelines.
- Maintain classroom inventory and notify supervisors of defective equipment.
- Prepare and submit student progress and participation reports, ensuring compliance with accreditation policies and state guidelines.
- Analyze data for improvement of learning outcomes.
- Perform and supervise all aspects of lab instruction and maintenance; teach theory and practical applications.
- Create a safe, non‑threatening learning climate and facilitate student learning.
- Participate in assessment of student learning activities to maximize potential for course and program outcomes.
- Support student success by posting office hours; collaborate with Student Central and Department Chair to schedule courses.
- Advise students on course selection and student academic matters.
- Serve on committees related to curriculum development, extracurricular activities, and college‑sponsored programs.
- Mentor adjunct faculty and participate in faculty meetings.
- Recruit and retain students by explaining training offered and supporting retention efforts.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments; attend professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Maintain certifications and licensures; maintain teaching proficiency and specialty expertise.
- Serve on civic engagement projects.
- Associates degree in Paramedicine (Education Required).
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in the workplace.
- Experience working with the community and health care entities.
- Experience with online instruction and teaching at a two‑year accredited institution.
- Knowledge of methods of instruction, testing and evaluation.
- Field experience in out‑of‑hospital emergency care.
- Current certification as a Paramedic and Paramedic Instructor.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution (Preferred).
- 3 years of teaching experience in an accredited Paramedic Program (Preferred).
- Knowledge of national paramedic accreditation, registry and state licensure systems (Preferred).
- Experience teaching with an online Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas, Desire to Learn).
- Position is not eligible for new sponsorship.
- Requires sufficient mobility to operate in a college with hands‑on programs; able to lift or pull at least 40 lbs.
- Physical demands may include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead/horizontally, repetitive hand movements, prolonged sitting, and 4‑6 hours of screen time per day.
