Full‑time Safety Professional positions available at three levels, with varying salaries and required experience.
Compensation and BenefitsRange:
- Safety Professional 1 (Entry Level): $55,600 – $83,400
- Safety Professional 2 (Mid Level): $64,800 – $97,200
- Safety Professional 3 (Mid‑to Senior Level): $74,300 – $111,500

- Bachelor's degree in safety, health or related field.
- Certification in safety (CSP) or industrial hygiene (CIH) preferred; must be willing to obtain if not currently possessed.
- Electric and natural gas utility experience preferred, but not required.
- Valid driver’s license, proficiency in record‑keeping and computer applications.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to acquire).
- Commitment to safe working practices and knowledge of safety policies/procedures.
- Excellent safety record.
- Support management in deployment of existing safety products and develop approaches to address safety and environmental issues.
- Administer program functions including medical surveillance, drug and alcohol plan, pre‑employment requirements, and DOT qualified driver files.
- Lead public safety school programs; develop outreach materials and monitor third‑party requirements.
- Monitor and process OSHA record‑keeping activities and annual surveys; provide statistical information as needed.
- Identify safety and environmental challenges and work closely with employees at all levels to solve them.
- Provide expert input on safety aspects of plans, procedures, practices, standards, and systems to reduce hazards.
- Maintain records related to safety and environmental issues, including observations, accountability interviews, and hazard tracking systems.
- Assist in investigation/analysis of incidents and prepare reports and presentations.
- Conduct inspections to ensure workplace conditions comply with all applicable North Western Energy safety requirements and regulations.
- Develop safety training and meeting materials; deliver this information to areas to equip employees to recognize hazards.
- Identify and recommend corrective actions for injury/illness or property damage risks and track resolution.
- Identify ergonomic issues; recommend and implement solutions; follow up for effectiveness.
- Maintain knowledge of current safety regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
- Represent the company in presentations to general public, contractors, and emergency responders about hazards of electricity and natural gas.
- Perform lifts and carries of office supplies up to 35 pounds.
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics.
