We are looking for a mid‑level Automation Technical Professional with a strong background in the Emerson Delta

V systems to be based at our client in Billings, MT.

Participate in designing and implementing automation systems for oil & gas and process industry projects, engaging in all project phases from front‑end engineering to commissioning. Support site surveys, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities, while reviewing project schedules and cost estimates. Assist procurement with vendor lists, requisitions, and technical evaluations, and travel to customer locations for project implementation (25%).

• The successful candidate will provide support for local on‑site client activities at client facilities with off‑hours call‑out support if needed.
• Hands‑on experience with Emerson Delta

  V SIS required.
• Allen Bradley PLC5 or Control Logix PLC configuration and programming is a plus.
• On‑site activities will include existing program updates and troubleshooting.

• Participate in automation engineering projects for the design and implementation of automation systems for oil & gas and process industry projects.
• Engage in all phases of automation projects, front‑end engineering through detailed design, procurement, configuration, implementation, startup, and commissioning in areas such as DCS configuration, SCADA, HMI, SIS/FGS PLC programming and interfacing, architecture and networking, and specification development.
• Attend and support site surveys, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and commissioning activities for delivered systems.
• Review, comment, and provide input on the project schedule and project cost estimate.
• Support procurement with vendor list development, requisition development, technical bid tabulations and clarifications, purchase recommendations, monitor progress and maintain communications with vendors as required.
• Candidate will be placed in a client’s facility.
• Additional travel is possible.

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Electrical, Computers/Systems, or Mechatronics.
• 10–15 years of automation experience.
• Experience with an operating company, systems vendor, or engineering services provider for the onshore or offshore oil & gas and/or energy industry is preferred.
• At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) hardware, network architecture, integration, configuration and programming, industrial protocols, HMI graphics and databases, and SCADA system configuration and installations.
• Hands‑on experience with the Emerson Delta
