We are seeking an experienced Operations Accountant to join our Finance & Cost Control team, based at our Head Office in Belmont (moving to CBD in mid 2026). Reporting to the Senior Operations Accountant, this role plays a critical part in supporting the financial management of projects across the Civil business unit. You will work closely with operational and commercial teams to provide timely, accurate financial reporting, cost and revenue analysis, and commercial insights to support decision‑making.
Tobe considered for this position, you must possess the following as a minimum:
- Tertiary qualification in Business Accounting (BSc/BA).
- CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent).
- Minimum 4 years’ professional experience in an accounting role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Intermediate Excel skills and strong attention to detail. Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with operational, commercial and finance teams.
- Experience with in the mining services or construction industry (Desirable).
- Experience in a project, operational or management accounting role (Desirable).
- Assist in the management of the CVR process and provide support to the Project/Commercial managers in analysing the monthly costs/revenue and preparing the CVRs.
- Assist in running the month‑end process in an efficient and timely manner, complying with deadlines on financial timetable.
- Administer site costing database.
- Ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing monthly management reports including overhead review preparation.
- Preparation of month‑end cost and revenue accruals.
- Compiling JV Billings invoices and JV management account packs.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assistance in the Divisional budgeting and forecasting process and preparation of variance analysis for GMs.
- Project cost control and cost allocation.
- Provide advice to the management team on any risks, cost and or margin trends upon identification.
- Preparation of fortnightly Civil and Mining cashflow forecasts for review.
- Play a critical supporting role in the ERP transition to D365 in due course.
- Travel to site for site visits may be presented from time to time as part of developing industry understanding and context.
