DC HR & Office Business Partner at O’Reilly Auto Parts
Provide human resources support for distribution center (DC) management and team members. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, orientation, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, and performance management. Work closely with corporate HR and local managers to ensure policies, laws, and company standards are met.
Essential Job Functions- Recruit distribution center positions—attend job fairs, partner with schools and temp agencies, and post employment advertisements.
- Accept referral bonus forms and forward them to corporate HR.
- Maintain current job requisitions and prepare/internal job opening announcements.
- Coordinate the application process: conduct preliminary interviews, pre‑employment testing, reference checks, and pre‑employment drug screens.
- Support the DC manager and supervisors with team member relations, including morale initiatives, progressive discipline, and HR policy application.
- Conduct new team member orientation, ensure timely completion of New Hire paperwork and benefit enrollment.
- Place and process uniform orders, review billing, and prepare for payment.
- Process team member status changes and submit them for DC manager approval and corporate HR review.
- Coordinate driver drug testing, physicals, DOT compliance, and maintain DOT driver files.
- Answer employee questions regarding benefits, insurance, and personnel matters.
- Maintain the performance evaluation schedule and coordinate distribution of evaluations to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Promptly report all accidents to risk management and follow claim processes.
- Coordinate post‑accident claim management with supervisors, safety personnel, and risk management.
- Assist injured team members with medical care instructions and work‑release follow‑up.
- Coordinate training programs for DC team members and supervisors.
- Process invoices for approval and payment; maintain petty cash and coordinate funds with Springfield.
- Enter team member payments, perform daily bank deposits, and collaborate with the credit department.
- Assist DC managers and supervisors with reports and procedures for team member productivity tracking.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate clerical team members; recommend pay adjustments.
- Serve as liaison to DC operations, ensuring compliance and familiarity with company policies.
- Coordinate and monitor funds and activities for local team activity committee.
- Train all Lotus Notes and AS400 users and coordinate various training programs.
- Maintain office equipment and supplies; handle special orders for furniture and equipment.
- Send payroll for DC team members each pay period.
- Attend supervisor meetings, update them on HR information, and produce minutes.
- Coordinate inter‑departmental information and collaborate with internal communications for weekly flyers.
- Assist with travel arrangements for DC team members and coordinate company vehicle usage.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2+ years of experience as a Human Resources Specialist.
- Proficient in PC programs, ten‑key, data entry, and mid‑range computer systems.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent leadership and employee relations skills, especially in recruiting and counseling.
- Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment.
- Experience with PCs.
Desired:
- College degree in a related field.
- 2+ years as a Human Resources Specialist in a distribution center environment.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
