Job OverviewHDR is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our West Region Power Generation team. The Senior Project Manager will work within a highly capable, multi‑discipline team that supports power and energy projects across industrial, institutional, municipal, IPP, and utility sectors. The role requires significant client interaction—from pre‑positioning to project completion—and strong verbal and written communication skills for regular coordination with internal staff such as project team members, marketing, and operations leadership.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.
- Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
- Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluation of risks associated with the services offered.
- Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff to complete project activities.
- Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client so that the project work plan and the client’s expectations on deliverables are understood and aligned. Monitor project deliverables for quality, completeness and conformance to client expectations.
- Proactively monitor and maintain the project budget and schedule. Develop appropriate recovery plans in the event of potential shortfalls.
- Monitor the contracted scope of work and identify scope changes.
- Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and project consulting issues.
- Perform design or consulting work in the manager’s area of engineering expertise.
- Routinely report project progress to the local and regional accounting and operations team.
- Have the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
- Demonstrate business development and strategic planning skills.
- Exhibit excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project (Access experience a plus).
- Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.

United States‑Arizona‑Phoenix, United States‑Montana‑Billings. Compensation range (for full‑time, regular positions, full location and experience based): $123,000–$176,000.
