Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.
Job SummaryAs a Float Registered Nurse on our Medical Surgical Floors, you will bring your full self—body, mind, heart, and spirit—to your work. You will provide care across various departments, including Med Surg, Ortho Medical Trauma, Medical Oncology Palliative Care, Observation, and Neuro Surgical Trauma.

Various Med-Surg areas - Facility:
St. Vincent Hospital
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- BSN required within 48 months of hire.
- Minimum one (1) year of RN experience in acute care M/S.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year.
- Current NIH Stroke certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with computers and quick to learn new programs.
Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and communicate quickly in emergency situations. Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision. Ability to lift, transfer, and transport patients and equipment. Frequent walking and standing; ability to kneel, bend, and reach. May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
