Key Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for Labor and Delivery patients
- Evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data
- Performs health teaching, health counseling, and supportive or restorative therapy and treatment
- Executes delegated medical functions and refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment
- Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans; documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
- May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, and may be placed on-call during regularly scheduled shifts
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN minimum)
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- ACLS, NRP, and/or PALS as appropriate for the unit or service
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Unit or service-appropriate specialty certification
